"Healthy sleep, better quality of life"

A program supporting employee sleep

An endless line at the office coffee machine? Yawning, lack of ideas and energy during team meetings? A sudden outburst of anger over an empty printer tray? Sleep affects both our physical and mental health — and with it, virtually every key area of our lives. Sleep deprivation can lead to health issues, loss of motivation, decreased performance and productivity, strained relationships, and — in the case of young parents with sleepless children — a reluctance to return to work after leave. Healthy sleep for your employees means better quality of life, both at home and at work. It’s also a source of your company’s competitive advantage. Make sure it’s part of your Business Plan.

SOLUTIONS FOR COMPANIES AND INSTITUTIONS

Who is the program designed for?

  • employees working under time pressure or with a high workload
  • shift workers
  • parents of young children
  • management and executive staff
  • remote or hybrid employees
  • employees who want to improve their sleep quality

Example topics:

  • how to take care of sleep while working shifts
  • sleep hygiene and other strategies supporting good quality sleep
  • solving common problems in children across different age groups
  • supporting your child’s sleep when returning to work after maternity/paternity leave
  • how sleep impacts cognitive performance and mental resilience
  • differences between short-term and chronic insomnia
  • what contributes to insomnia and how it is defined
  • what are the current standards in insomnia treatment
  • where to seek help if you suspect you may be struggling with insomnia

3 steps of the program:

1. assessing the organisation’s needs: identifying which employee groups experience sleep-related difficulties and determining the scope of intervention needed

2.developing the program framework: eg. prevention of sleep disorders, suport for shift workers, support for sleep-deprived parents of young children etc.

3. selecting tools and implementation methods: eg. educational formats (workshops, webinars, lectures), individual support, developing flexible work schedules, introducing organizational culture changes that promote healthy sleep habits etc.

ESG initiatives

As part of the UN Sustainable Development Goals adopted by member states, an increasing number of companies are required to engage in non-financial (ESG) reporting. An ESG report outlines a company’s standards in the areas of Environmental protection, Social responsibility, and Corporate governance. The social aspect includes, among other things, the health and well-being of employees. Given the professional, social, and physical consequences of sleep deprivation — as well as the growing number of people reporting insomnia — the sleep education programs I offer (workshops, trainings, expert talks) directly support the achievement of one of the core Sustainable Development Goals: “GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING” thus becoming an integral part of a company’s social responsibility strategy.

About Me

Agnieszka Piotrowska

Sleep is my work and passion. For over 11 years, I have been educating people about proper sleep habits and the impact of sleep on mental and physical health through consultations, workshops and lectures. My mission is to promote healthy sleep that improves the quality of life.

I have completed a course in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia CBT-I (Dr. Jacobs, Harvard Medical School) and numerous trainings in the field of sleep disorders. I am the first certified Child Sleep Consultant in Poland (Family Sleep Institute) and a graduate of postgraduate studies at SWPS "Child and Youth Psychology - Supporting Development".

- A few weeks ago I had to take sick leave. I couldn't cope anymore. This is the first time I've had to stay home because of lack of sleep.
- How many days have you been gone?
- Four. Stomach flu, or so I told my boss. If I told him the truth, that I'm on sick leave because I can't cope with insomnia anymore, he'd start to wonder what's really wrong with me." Anders Bortne "I'm Not Sleeping: A Personal Account of Life Without Sleep
